Rev Dr Anne Hilborn

Rev Dr Anne Hilborn – Transition Pastor

My newest calling is as a Certified Transitional Pastor in ECO, a calling I love.  While we’ve been coming to SB for years, I began “staying here for work” in October 2020.  (We hail from Charlotte!)   Calabash Covenant is filled with wonderful folks who are biblically literate, love Jesus, are caring and eager to reach out into the community!  I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior as a teenager in VA.  Met my husband Scott (a pastor in Charlotte) at Gordon-Conwell Seminary in MA.  Our now adult children were born in Asheville NC (where we served our first church).  Favorite things: having family time, dining out and walking the beach!

Rev Robson Gomes – Assistant Pastor, Missions – Brazil

Robson is married to Juliane for almost 40 years, and they have 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren. He is a second career pastor, having worked in large companies as a Human Resources Manager before dedicating himself exclusively to the Ministry of the Word. He is a third generation of Presbyterian pastors and has served for several years as seminary professor at the presbyterian seminaries in Belo Horizonte and São Paulo. He continues teaching, as a visiting professor, at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Moscow, Russia. Today he is fully dedicated himself to the advancing of the missional movement nationally, while pastoring a missional community in Belo Horizonte. He is also responsible for planting ECO in Brazil. He is a Steelers fan, but also enjoys watching and playing soccer. He enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Janine Zegel

Janine Zegel – Office Administrative Assistant

Janine will work Monday through Friday, 9:00 to 5:00. Janine grew up in East Islip, New York and then spent 27 years in Ridgewood and Surf City New Jersey. She moved to North Myrtle Beach 6 months ago and is loving her new life in the South. Janine has three children, two boys and a girl. Both of the boys are still in New Jersey, but her daughter joined her on the move south. Janine has many passions and hobbies, but is most proud of her passion for running. She has completed 17 marathons, including those in New York, Baltimore, Washington D.C, Philadelphia, and two Boston Marathons. Her next one will be in Charleston in January 2022. Janine has a relationship with our God and is really looking forward to meeting the CCPC Covenant Partners.

She started in her role as Administrative Assistant on June 22nd, so please take a moment to stop by the office, introduce yourself, and welcome her to our loving church.

Gloria Wimmer, CLP – Bookkeeper

Bookkeeper since 2002. Moved back to the Carolinas after a career with AT&T in the North East. I claim Charleston, SC as my home town where I accepted Jesus as my Savior and was baptized. I moved to Sunset Beach in the mid 1990s, was led to CPC and there convicted to make Jesus the Lord of my life. That began my pursuit to become a Commissioned Lay Pastor in the PC(USA), followed by training as a CLP under ECO in 2019. I enjoy serving the Lord, reading, playing golf and vacationing with my sister and my nephews.

Annelle Waldron CLP 2

Annelle Waldron, CLP2 – Whiteville Campus

As a Commissioned Lay Pastor, who has served the church as a CLP for almost 20 years -14 years with PC-USA and 3 ½ years with ECO, I am presently on staff with CCPC serving the Whiteville Worshipping Community. Presently, we are a gathering of 12-16 people ranging in age from teenagers to those over 70. I love time spent with them as they are hungry to study God’s Word. Being raised in the church, I don’t recall a time when I did not know that Jesus Christ was my Savior; however, I committed my life to Him as a young person, and was baptized at the age of 10. Rob and I celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2018. We have three wonderful daughters, 8 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Besides spending time with them, I love greeting God at sunrise on the end of our pier at White Lake – for me, its is nature’s sanctuary and a place of prayer; and it is the place I accepted my call to ministry.

Peg Stinnett, CLP – Unified Choir Director

I joyfully serve as both choir director and Commissioned Lay Pastor here at CCPC. Church was always part of my life but I truly accepted Jesus into my life as a teenager. We moved to this beautiful area from Maryland but both my husband and I are originally from the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia. We met in high school, have two wonderful children, a son- and daughter-in law, and three amazing grandchildren. My favorite pastimes are spending time with family, vacationing with friends, and sitting near the ocean with my feet in the sand reading a good book!

Ruth Daniel

Ruth Daniel – Unified Choir Director

As a child my favorite part of church worship was the classical style pipe organ and choir music.  In 1963, I purchased a home organ.  Our son was born in Dec.1966, and I started as organist at a United Methodist Church in Jan.  I served at 2 other Pres. churches in PA before my husband and I “retired” to Ocean Isle Beach, NC in 1988.  In 1991, the newly organized Calabash Pres. Church needed someone to play the organ for worship in their soon-to-be-completed church building.  After many prayers, I accepted the job of Music Director/Organist.  Although I had attended Sunday School most of my life and learned about Jesus, I was an adult when a CPC Choir Member helped me understand the need to accept Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.  I graduated from Bethany College in WV with an Elementary Ed degree and taught in public schools for 10 years.  I met my husband, Alex at a teachers’ meeting.  Our son lives in Wake Forest and our daughter and her husband live in Myrtle Beach.

Karen Scheboth, CLP

Bob and I just celebrated 39 years of marriage. When we retired, we prayed about where we should live. We now reside in the Calabash area and have been here for the past five years. I am enjoying retirement, and continue to thank God for His blessings. I am now a Commissioned Lay Pastor at CCPC. My passion is to paint pictures using acrylics while listening to Christian artists sing. It is a form of prayer and meditation while painting. I like to walk on the beach or around the neighborhood, to swim, but most importantly — we just became grandparents!
